Commission B Encourages Optimization of Certified Job Training for Residents

Jakarta City Council Commission B Chairman, Nova Harivan Paloh appealed the Jakarta Provicial Government to add budget and increase job skills training programs.

Nova added training programs supported by official certification will increase the competitiveness of the workforce in Jakarta. He assessed the current budget for job training programs is still not optimal, despite high demand from residents.

"When we went out into the residential during recess, many constituents requested training, such as for security guards and others. They wanted training with certification so they could put it to work immediately," he said, Thursday (8/7).

He also emphasized the importance of integrated training with official certification from institutions such as MTU and BNSP (National Professional Certification Agency). This will open up more job opportunities in the private sector and through partnerships with local governments.

"This training must be properly designed to be effective," he added.

Nova encouraged the Jakarta Provincial Government to set measurable targets for each training program to reach as many residents as possible.

"It must be made impressively. So that people feel like this isn't just another training program, but one that can truly useful for their future," he stated.
